Well it's interesting that after throwing a shoe, the reporter and his country want him freed immediately, no questions asked. Since when does assualting someone with a shoe constitute freedom of epression or speach?
Perhaps since he missed, it wasn't assault, but a simple, direct, act of expression?
Bottom line is you threw a shoe at a person. I believe that's attempted assault. Nice try, but you missed and should see at least a monetary fine. That's the American way. No jail time, just a fine. If that shoe was aimed at Saddam Hussein, where would that journalist be today?
